Ulys - You Get Used to Ulys Class Quickly
Conform • Compositing • Color Grading • Tracking • Rotoscoping • 2D VFX
Description
This campaign features a driver crossing tolls, parking lots, and charging stations with total fluidity, embodying the Ulys promise: simplicity, speed, and journey mastery. The film's dynamic and premium aesthetic relied on precise and invisible finishing work.
On Flame, I primarily ensured project conform. In collaboration with two other VFX Artists, I intervened on shot clean-up, removing undesirable elements like signage posts, and visual optimization of the Ulys card to make it more readable and impactful on screen.
I also participated in 2D compositing, text integration, color adjustments, then complete render management and multi-format variants.

Challenges & Solutions
Image Cleaning & Refinement
Certain real set elements (posts, signage, parasitic details) harmed the desired fluidity and control sensation.
Precise clean-up and retiming work removed undesirable elements, energized film rhythm, and refined frames to strengthen the premium aspect of the Ulys highway card.
Product Readability
The Ulys card needed to be perfectly identifiable and readable despite camera movements and shooting conditions.
Tracking, rotoscoping, and targeted retouching improved product clarity and highlighting while maintaining natural rendering.
Collaborative Workflow & Versioning
The project required close coordination between multiple artists and delivery of five durations adapted to broadcast platforms.
I ensured conform, technical verifications, and final renders for 43s, 25s, 15s, 10s, and 5s formats, ensuring visual consistency and broadcast compliance.
